Villa Resort`s fascinating history began in the
Middle Ages at the end of the 9th Century. It
was originally built as a tower house during a
period when noble aristocrats would construct
elegant castle and tower structures in the
pristine Florentine countryside as a symbol of
opulence and high social status. By the end of
the year 1200, the Mazzoli family had
constructed a 4-story tower house built in their
honor on this precise location and named it
Val di Mazzoli. Nearly a century passes and a
wealthy family by the name of Zuti, who had
family businesses in agriculture and Italian
terracotta ceramics and pottery located in the
nearby woods, had become owners of the
tower and property around the year 1350.
They renamed it Zuti. As the Zuti family grew,
they soon added to the tower home by
constructing a larger structure appending the
northwest side of the original tower. In 1401,
the name Li Zuti became the official name of
the estate. Eventually the Zuti family sold the
estate in 1628 to the Nuns of Dominicane del
Maglio who remained the owners until 1868.
During this timeframe the nuns had
transformed the residence into a convent, a
period of which the Li Zuti Villa and property
had reached its peak level of beauty and
splendor. Following the ownership of the nuns
came modern restoration and updated
infrastructure for the Li Zuti Villa. The present
day Lorenzetti family have now become
owners of the estate, transforming it into the
10 hectares (approx. 25 acres) Five Star
Resort situated in the scenic Florentine
country hillside that it is today. Under the new
and current ownership of the Lorenzetti
family, the Villa has been newly revitalized
with elegance and charm, while always
maintaining the originality of its structure and
design and continuing to use the quality
Tuscan Impruneta terracotta ceramics,
cypress wood, and fine stone as was
traditionally used in the 1500s Renaissance
Era. The modern-day Li Zuti Villa Resort
elegantly balances its unique history with the
technological advancements of the present.
This philosophy to preserve its original
foundation and antique beauty, in which the
Lorenzetti family holds highly, is what makes
the Li Zuti Villa truly special. The Li Zuti Villa
consists of seven suites, each luxuriously
furnished including a home theatre equipped
with an LCD television, remote control, SKY
Cable, an optimal audio system to enjoy
movies and music with surround sound, and
Wi-Fi internet comfortably accessed at your
fingertips. Pay Per View is also available upon
request. Light, electricity, heating and air-
conditioning is powered by motion sensors
and light switch adjusters to create your
desired ambience. Furthermore, each suite
also has a sizeable kitchen with a gas stove
and cooking and kitchenware for your usage.
For your enjoyment outdoors, the Li Zuti
Resort offers 10,000 sq. meters of natural
gardens and woods ideal for a delightful
nature walk of the scenic Chianti Fiorentino. A
beautiful swimming pool with a fountain
creating a splendid waterfall effect that
cascades over the pool awaits you. For some
relaxing personal time, a heated hydro-
massage whirlpool privately tucked beside the
pool is the solution. At night, the Li Zuti Villa
Resort illuminates, showing off the marvelous
estate under the starry sky and the
spectacular view of Florence, one of the most
beautiful cities on Earth. If you wish to visit
downtown Florence, situated only 12km away,
bus transportation is available at a pick-up
point just 1km away from the resort. The trip
duration to downtown is about 40 minutes.

served in the privacy of your suite or in the
beautiful gardens for pleasant outdoor dining
